A Canvas of Our Shared Story

A Visual Journey Through Our Town’s History

To celebrate our 150+ years of shared history, we’ve turned our Operations Building into a canvas—featuring a vibrant mural that highlights Richwood’s unique past, from old-school trolleys to beloved mascots and iconic architecture.

Behind the Brushstrokes

This mural wasn’t created by one person—it was a true community collaboration. A team of local historians, long-time residents, and talented designers came together to piece together a visual tapestry of Richwood’s past and present. From selecting key moments in the town’s history to carefully crafting each detail, the process was a labor of love designed to reflect the heart of our hometown.

A Tribute in Paint: Richwood’s Story Comes to Life

As part of our recent Operations building expansion, we had to say goodbye to a structure that had served many purposes over the years—most recently our Marketing office, and long before that, a hardware store, an auto shop, and more. In its place? A large parking lot. Necessary, yes—but not exactly charming.
We understood what that change meant to the look and feel of downtown Richwood, so we asked ourselves: How can we add something meaningful back to this space?
The answer was a mural.
This wasn’t just about filling a blank wall—it was about honoring the rich, shared history between Richwood Bank and the town we’ve proudly served since 1867.
Over the decades, so much has changed, and yet the heart of this community remains the same. We wanted a way to capture that spirit for future generations to see and understand.
We gathered a team—made up of bank staff, local historians, our mayor, and longtime community members—who shared stories, memories, and photos that painted a vivid picture of Richwood through the years. Then, a team of talented artists took the vision and brought it to life in color, detail, and scale.
Now, instead of just a parking lot, we have a visual legacy. One that tells the story of where we’ve been—and reminds us all of the roots that keep us grounded.
