Consumer Protection Laws are designed to prevent businesses from engaging in fraudulent or deceptive marketing practices, thus gaining an advantage over their competition.  There are three basic questions to ask yourself for each claim in the advertisement:

  1. Is it Truthful?
  2. Can it be deceptive or unfair?
  3. Is the claim based on evidence?
